Week 10 EOC: Benefits vs Features

dark chocolate- very healthy
strawberry filling- organic
cookie- sweet

Week 9 EOC: Creative Content

For the creative content for my project I will be creating the packaging. It will be a white package. The name in French and a picture of strawberries in the corner. Also a chocolate like drizzle across the package.

implementation evaluation control

For my product I will follow through with everything I said I was going  to do. Make sure everyone is satisfied and I enjoy what I am doing. New goals will be set ever so often to make sure I am on track. I will stay loyal to my brand. Increasing quality can also result in increased brand loyalty, greater ability to raise prices, or new opportunities for market segmentation(MTKG178). When my product is in stores I hope customers stay true to my brand. I hope my old customers bring in new ones and the allow me to grow as a brand and help me make my product better. I want to be on a good level with my clients where they are comfortable with giving feedback. the quality they expect and that are sold at prices they are willing to pay(MKTG7).

price

Our chocolate aims at middle class and up. The bar will start off at a price of $10.00 and slowly go depending on how desired the bar is. Product/service differentiation competitive advantage the provision of something that is unique and valuable to buyers beyond simply offering a lower price than that of the competition(MKTG24). The price for this healthy and sweet bar is quite affordable for an everyday person on the go. Knowing that this will be a desired product the highest the bar will go for is going to be $15.00 to still be in that affordable price range.
Lower-income consumers are price sensitive, but they will pay for products if they deliver a benefit that is worth the money(MTKG7)

distribution

Place, or distribution, strategies are concerned with making products available when and where customers want them(MKTG28). For our distribution we will start off selling from our Instagram page. From there we will get a lot of customers who want this bar then start selling in local stores. There are going to be times we are going to sell out and then customers are just going to have to wait until we make more and send a another big shipment out.The best marketing tactic is to protect existing market share by reinvesting earnings in product improvement, better distribution, more promotion, and production efficiency. Management must capture new users as they enter the market(MKTG18)

Promotion

Promotion is the means by which organizations communicate with present and prospective customers about the merits and characteristics of their organization and products(MKTG12). Social Media is going to play a huge role in this bars life. We are going to use the internet outlet to promote the bar. Instagram is the way we are going to do so our promoting.
By doing so we hope to bring in everyone who is willing to bring in positivity and help make change to purchase a bar and donate to the charity. The Internet and the widespread use of social media have accelerated the shift in power from manufacturers and retailers to consumers and business users.(MKTG6)

Product

An average is simply a midpoint in some set of characteristics. Because most potential customers are not “average,” they are not likely to be attracted to an average product marketed to the average customer(MKTG11). Our product is special is many different aspects. For starters it is dark chocolate. Dark chocolate holds a lot of nutrients, powerful source of antioxidants, improve blood flow and lower blood pressure, raises HDL and protects LDL against oxidation, lowers risk of cardiovascular disease, protects your skin from the sun, and will improve you brain function. The strawberry filling is organic so it will help improve your eyes, immune system, helps prevent arthritis and gout, helps prevent cancer, and helps brain functions. The layer of cookie gives you an extra boost of sweet. The cookie gives off fibers and gives off rich proteins. market orientation a philosophy that assumes that a sale does not depend on an aggressive sales force but rather on a customer's decision to purchase a product(MTKG5)

Marketing Strategy

Marketing has two facets. First, it is a philosophy, an attitude, a perspective, or a management orientation that stresses customer satisfaction. Second, marketing is an organization function and a set of processes used to implement this philosophy(MKTG2). Our marketing strategy is simply to satisfy the customer. Our product will be good and will satisfy them. Our customers might have a few minor things they want to change but out overall concept is good and it is beneficial to their lives.
Job performance, company performance, product value, and customer satisfaction all improve when people in the same department or work group begin supporting and assisting each other and emphasize cooperation instead of competition(MKTG10). Instead of our customers trying to go find a different bar we want them to give us feed back not only to make our bar better but to make them feel better and for them to be able have something good when they donate. The is our main goal.

SWOT

strengths, weaknesses, external opportunities, threats

Strengths: Our strength is that we our a healthy sweet treat that everyone is going to love. We are going to be donating back to those in need and that is always a plus when purchasing something. Us having different flavors will put us ahead of the game and change it for the better. Understanding your competitive arena and competitors' strengths and weaknesses is a critical component of a market orientation(MTKG5).

Weaknesses: Our weakness would have to be the fact we have dark chocolate. Due to the fact many can just taste the bitterness of it in their mouths right now turn people off. Our bar added other flavors to balance that out but since people cant get past the name dark chocolate that will hinder us from getting consumers

External Opportunities: This company might branch out and create an actual health bar for athletes. A lot athletes have to be on a special diet and sometimes the food or the protein is not the great. Well we  might change that for them and somehow create a whole protein bar so they can still have their taste buds jumping.

Threats: Our biggest threat would have to be milk chocolate. Only because that is always the first choice people pick when dealing with chocolate. Also because we have different flavors they might be turned off by the idea. When examining external opportunities and threats, marketing managers must analyze aspects of the marketing environment. This process is called environmental scanning(MTKG22)

Objectives

A marketing objective is a statement of what is to be accomplished through marketing activities(MKTG26). For this bar our objective is to give back. We are catering to so you can cater back to the ones who need it the most. This unique bar will leave our consumers more than satisfied. The customers' evaluation of a good or service in terms of whether that good or service has met their needs and expectations is called customer satisfaction. Failure to meet needs and expectations results in dissatisfaction with the good or service. Some companies, in their passion to drive down costs, have damaged their relationships with customers.(MKTG8) Due to the fact that it is a healthy candy bar with a twist. This twist is that it is healthy. The health factor to it will have people crawling back for more. The growth of this bar will most definitely expand more throughout the US in less than a year.

Business mission statement

Fraise au Chocolat

This tasty treat is going to give everyone a new look on dark chocolate. Not only a new look but a change of heart on donating. The ultimate goal of any promotion is to get someone to buy a good or service or, in the case of nonprofit organizations, to take some action (for example, donate blood).(MKTG287). Every time a bar is purchased part of the earnings will donated to a charity. This charity will help the less fortunate with shelter and food. There are a lot of us out there in the world who are as fortunate to be able to go the local store are grab a Fraise au Chocolat. The uniqueness of this bar will have you hooked and thats our mission. The mission statement is based on a careful analysis of benefits sought by present and potential customers and an analysis of existing and anticipated environmental conditions(MKTG22).

Week 7 EOC: Final Product Pitch

Fraise au Chocolat

Special offer or a strong closing sales pitch may be used to obtain purchase action(MKTG288). Dark chocolate bar with a strawberry filling and a thin layer of cookie is a perfect treat. This bar is something that is flying off the shelves. Due to all the different flavors coming at you it is hard not to love.
This bar is for agers 10 and up. The bar is a good snack to get on a quick trip to the store or a great surprise in your child's packed lunch. A treat that you want to keep eating over and over again and never get tired of it.
An average is simply a midpoint in some set of characteristics. Because most potential customers are not “average,” they are not likely to be attracted to an average product marketed to the average customer(MKTG288).

Week 5 EOC: This is what has my interest

https://twitter.com/yadadameen4/status/794605918428086272

Kendall Jenner's 21st birthday party dress has my attention. Jenner was wearing a LaBourjoisie mini dress that gave off an old Hollywood flare. This has my attention because I'm a Fashion and Retail Management major so this brought a lot of joy to me. Jenner's style has influenced many young individuals because of her individuality from her Kardashian sisters. Her presence is different from theirs and I like that a lot from her.

https://twitter.com/yadadameen4/status/794607778757152769

Another Jenner, Kylie. Over the past few years she has impacted her followers greatly. Kylie has launched her own cosmetic line and there is always something in the media about her and well known rapper Tyga. her unique style has many memorized, especially for her 2016 Halloween costume. This year everyone had creative ideas and went above and beyond and I loved it. Kylie's costume I loved a lot because she bodied it. She went as Christina Aguilera. It's crazy how good Kylie pulled this off from the piercings in her face down to an exact replica of her outfit Aguilera wore in her 'Dirtty' music video.

Rihanna will always have my full attention. She is simply iconic in anything she wears. Anytime she steps out she kills the show. Over the past few years she has been making a great presence in the fashion world. Launching her clothing line with Puma, Fenty has brought in a great audience. It's a unique clothing line that I feel you have to really enjoy Rihannas looks to go out and buy. But to be honest who doesn't love Rihanna

Week 4 EOC: There's a app for that

An everyday thing for anyone who has a phone is to misplace it. Sometimes when you misplace you end up not getting it back. To solve that problem of not getting it back, there should be an app that helps. When you download the app it should be set up to your location and who often you are on your phone. With the purchase of the app you go and buy a bracelet. The bracelet will then be set up with your phone information. The app itself is setup for your own personal phone and when having the bracelet you can press a button on it and it will set off an alarm for the phone to go off and make it quicker and more effective to find. Also on the bracelet, say you left it at your friends house 4 miles away. It will let you know how many miles away the device is. Lets say you end up not finding it then you can from the bracelet lock the phone and contact your phone company.

Week 3 EOC: My Demogaphic

Population is broken down into more specific increments. "Age groups present opportunities to focus on a section of a population and offer opportunities for marketers."(MKGT, 53). The more specific increments are called tweens, teens, Millennials, Generation X, and baby boomers. Each group is different in its own way. I was born on August 15, 1998, so I fall under the category of teens. As I was brought up the internet was becoming a bigger part of everyones daily lives. When I was in 6th grade the iPhone just came out and that was a necessity to have and now that I just graduated from high school the iPhone has became so much more advanced and the internet as well. Recent studies have showed that teens are big on social media. For me personally that is correct. Social media is a great way to express myself and stay engaged in other peoples lives. Along with the study it shows teens are big on shopping. Once again yes that is correct. Throughout high school it was all about looks. Are you wearing the latest shoes, do you own the most expensive piece of jewelry, and do you rock what you're wearing well. A lot of teens fall under the category of unemployment. Im the small percentage who didn't. While I was in high school I had 2 jobs, but when I graduated from Castro Valley High in California I moved to Nevada with my family which meant I had to quit both jobs. After graduating I knew what I wanted to do and thats what brings me to the Art Institute for my Fashion and Retail Management degree to become a Buyer.

Week 3 EOC: Making Money for Good

" Buy one, Give one". The Company Store is a business that has been around since 1911. The Company store sells comforters, and with every purchase of a comforter one will be donated to a homeless child in America. "More than 200,000 children are homeless in America tonight", so when buying a comforter the donated one will be sent to a child at Family Promise. Family Promise's vision is to make sure every family has a home, a livelihood, and a better future. There impact on lives is great. They change lives, keep families together, engage many volunteers, and inspire many individuals. Family Promise also gives back, anytime someone invests $3 is donated to goods and services. The organization achieves a lot of success by having 74% families find homes in less than nine weeks.

Week 2 EOC: Boston Consulting Group - Video Games

Star- Mobile video games are becoming the new wave. According to Tom DiChristopher on CNBC "Worldwide digital video game sales hit a record last year as the mobile market continued to rocket higher and hardcore gamers gravitated toward console downloads". The mobile games are very low cost and very convenient. Due to that reason more people are going to download them and they are always going to be around.

Cash Cow- The PS4 game console is still selling rather well. Extreme Tech is saying that it is still dominant due to the fact Xbox one is not finished. In 2015, " July to September, the PS4 sold four million units". Xbox One seems to have little hope on being able to catch up to the PS4.

Question Mark: Virtual Reality head consoles seems to be selling a lot. The cost of them are high and after a while people aren't going to be willing to pay that much for them. Since mobile games are a lot cheaper more people will lean towards that.

Dog: The Wii U was expected to sell at least 100 million units. That did not go as planned and only sold at least 13 million. The Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima thought since the actual Wii console sold good the Wii U would too.

Week 1 EOC: Great Customer Service

I moved to Vegas July, 2016 and it is very different from where I'm from which is the Bay Area. I stayed in the house all the time until my best friend came to visit me in September. We decided to go to strip and we went to the Grand Canal Shoppes. There is a store called Basin White much similar to Lush. Basically organic cosmetics. Soon as we walked in we were greeted with the biggest hello and smile from an employee by the name of Robert. He asked us a lot of questions and made us feel very comfortable with him. He gave us samples of a lot of the products and ran down a lot of ingredients that was included in them. We went in there with the intention of buying nothing but we both ended up getting something just so Robert could get his commission. Customer Service like that is always expected but never given as effective as that time I entered Basin White.

Week 1 EOC: My Voice

Fashion is a source of expression, and no one should be judged by the way they are expressing themselves. As a fashion buyer it is ok to step out of your comfort zone. You want to be creative in a way that you know will make everyone happy. Me working at Nordstrom I step out of comfort zone a lot and choose fashions that I typically wouldn't wear, but you want to please everyone. In the fashion industry it is crazy that there are many different styles that please many individuals and as a buyer you want everyone to feel welcomed into the store and feel very comfortable buying something that is pleasing to them. After graduating from the Art Institute I will take all the knowledge that I gained and apply it well and I will go far with it.
